Police shot dead CPI(Maoist) zonal commander in Jharkhand

Daltanganj, Mar 4 (UNI) Police shot dead CPI (Maoist) zonal commander Jagannath Koira and apprended another in an encounter at Khukhuma under Bisanpur police station of Palamu district today.

A policeman was also injured in the encounter, police said.

Two country made pistols, eight live cartridges and Rs.5000 in cash were recorvered from the self-styled commander.

The outlawed carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. He was involved in 70 criminal cases, police said.
