Perfect coordination between BJP-JD (S), says Shettar
Hubli, Mar 4 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka President President and Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar today said there was perfect coordination between his party and its ruling coalition partner Janata Dal (Secular) in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, he said ''We have successfully held three joint legislature party meetings, which itself is a record of sorts. During the previous government no such meetings were held,'' he pointed out.
He informed that as part of its efforts to change the image of the Revenue Department, his Ministry had decided to extend issue of record of rights certificates to farmers at hobli level from the present taluk headquarters level.
He said at present the facility was available at 175 taluk headquarters and now with the help of private participation it would be extended to 800 Hobli centres in the state at a cost of Rs 20 crore. Authorities concerned were also being instructed to clear applications within three days of receipt, he added.
To a question, Mr Shettar said it had been decided to set up the 'Hubli-Dharwad-One' facility on the lines of 'Bangalore-One' facility to help people pay electricity, water, telephone, property tax and others bills under one roof.
On the inconvenience caused to the general public in getting stamp papers, Mr Shettar said he would be convening a meeting of officials concerned to review the present system of issuing stamp papers and work out remedies for it in a week's time.
Asked whether the government would come out with a white paper on the stamp paper scam as demanded by his party when it was in the opposition, Mr Shettar said that at no point his party had demanded a white paper and clarified that it had only asked for a CBI probe into the scam.
