MARD to continue strike
Mumbai, Mar 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) tonight decided to continue its strike despite the state government's action to deregister the 3,073 striking doctors.
Describing the government's action as illegal, MARD secretary Ajay Ovhal told UNI that they would take legal action on this issue.
Mr Ovhal said they were getting support from all over the country, especially Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. The association of resident doctors of these five states, which have extended their support to the agitating doctors here, would observe a one-day token strike to express their solidarity with MARD. However, the date has not been decided.
''Our strike will continue,'' he added.
