Justice P C Phukan is new Upa-Lokayukta of Asom

Guwahati, Mar 4 (UNI) Justice (Retd) Prabhat Chandra Phukan took over the charge of office as the Upa-Lokayukta, Asom.

The oath of office was adminisreted to Mr Phukan by Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice B S Reddy at a solemn function held here yesterday.

After his retirement as a high court judge, Justice Phukan became the president of the state consumer forum, Asom. He has been appointed as the Upa Lokayukta by a notification issued by the state government on February 20.
