Herbo-metallic products must be opened up to scientific scrutiny
New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi today said there is a need to open up the 'herbo-metallic products' to the scrutiny of modern day science and demonstrate their advantages for the benefit of society.
''All the stakeholders in the field should take upon themselves to prove that the herbo-metallic preparations are non-toxic by scientific tools,'' Mr Joshi said in his address at the valedictory function of the National Consultation on ''Herbo-Metallic Preparations of Indian Systems of Medicine''.
He said the traditional system of medicines was now being accepted as an important and integral part of healthcare.
''Therefore, both allopathy and the traditional treatment systems can complement each other,'' he added.
Mr Joshi said 'Bhasmas' could then become household names across the world for curing several incurable diseases, which could not being cured by other systems of medical science.
He said the 'nano materials' of today were present thousands of years ago as had been proved by research studies of the scientists in the developed world.
