Govt to counter TDP's charge on "kickbacks" in Jalayagnam
Hyderabad, Mar 4 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today decided to make a statement on the Opposition Telugu Desam Party allegations of a Rs 400 crore fraud in the tender process of the Rs 1,737 crore Yellampalli Sripadasagar Phase II project inthe assembly.
The Government would reply to each and every charge made by the TDP in the State Assembly and take into confidence the people of the state on the tendering process, official sources said after a cabinet meeting.
The Government would make a statement in the House and counter the TDP which resorted to ''false propoganda''.
The cabinet also complimented Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for organising the US president George W Bush's visit here and winning recognition for the state government's efforts to usher in all-round development in the rural areas. Mr Bush, who was highly impressed with the presentation by progressive farmers and rural women entrepreneurs had extended his stay at the Acharya N G Ranga University from originally scheduled 60 minutes to 90 minutes, official sources said.
The Cabinet has also decided to bring in three bills, including the one to create three new universities, during the session, the sources said.
