Funds allocated for sports activities

Bijapur, Mar 4 (UNI) In a bid to implement sports activities in next four years in the State, Rs 100 crore has been allocated in the 11th Finance Commission, the Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Mr Alkodu Hanumantappa said here today.

The minister told reporters that under this allocation, the funds would be allotted to each taluk to establish stadiums. He said that the budgetary allocatioin for the year is Rs 11.45 crore.

The State governmment is contemplating to take the services of physical teachers in the primary schools.

To encourage rural sports, the government has decided to establish a residential sports school in each district.
