Tiruchirapalli, Mar 4 (UNI) DMK President M Karunanidhi, heading the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) in the state, today declared that his party would not accept MDMK's continuance in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre.

''We will oppose and will not accept the MDMK's continuance in the UPA in the wake of it quitting the DPA and joining the AIADMK alliance for the coming Assemby elections,'' he told mediapersons at the party's conference venue here.

Reacting to the latest development, Mr Karunanidhi said MDMK General Secretary Vaiko had gone to a place where there were more seats to share. ''Here, we have limited seats and we could only offer limited seats,'' he added.

Asked how he felt about Mr Vaiko quitting the DPA and joining the AIADMK, he recalled a recent interview given by Mr Vaiko's mother in which she had stated that his son would not go to the AIADMK Front even if offered 100 seats.

''When he has not listened to the words of his mother, how will he listen to my words,?'' he asked.
