Chinese businessmen offer to help package Indian tea
Siliguri, Mar 4 (UNI) A Chinese business delegation today offered to support Indian tea producers package their produce for international markets.
China Chamber of Commerce's chairman (supervisory board for tea) Huang Hanging invited the Indian tea producers to China for learning planned packaging of the tea produced in the country.
"Planned packaging can only help Indian tea garner business in the potential international markets," Mr Hanging said.
Despite being superior in quality, world renowned Darjeeling tea is losing market because of lack of marketing even as SriLankan tea is growing its market share because of proper packaging, he observed.
The 13-member Chinese business delegation came to India for examining bilateral trade between the two countries.
The delegates led by Mr Hanging were visiting Delhi, Siliguri, Darjeeling and Kolkata.
