AIADMK forges alliance with three more parties in poll
Chennai, Mar 4 (UNI) After successfully roping in the MDMK into its front, the ruling AIADMK today entered into an electoral agreement with three more political parties, including the Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC), for the May eight Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
According to the agreement signed by AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa and PMC President P Kannan, the PMC would contest ten seats in Pondicherry in alliance with the AIADMK.
The AIADMK also allotted two seats in Pondicherry to the Dalit Panthers of India (DPI).
DPI General Secretary Thol Tirumavalavan was the first to enter into an electoral pact with the AIADMK when he called on Ms Jayalalithaa last week. The DPI was given nine seats to contest the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The AIADMK also allotted two seats to the Indian National League and one seat to the Indian Union Muslim League for Tamil Nadu.
An agreement to this effect was signed between Ms Jayalalithaa and INL State President M Basheer Ahamed and IUML State Secretary M G Dawood Miyakhan.
