3 Lashker militants killed, 10 wounded in J

Srinagar, Mar 4 (UNI)Three militants were killed and ten others, including three security personnel, were injured while security forces busted a militant hideout and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition in the Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours, an official spokesman said today.

Security forces killed three Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in a fierce night-long operation at Sangiot-Harni in Poonch district of Jammu region last night, he said.

He said the encounter ensued after a search party of Security forces was attacked by militants, he added.

One security jawan was also injured in the encounter, the spokesman said.

Three AK rifles, six magazines, 180 rounds, two wireless sets, one phone, one stamp of District Commander Rajouri and some explosive material were recovered from the slain militants.

A CRPF jawan and two police constables were among the nine people injured in a grenade attack by militants at a security bunker at Rainwari in the downtown today.

The grenade exploded outside the bunker causing injuries to the nine people, who have been hospitalised he said.

The militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed the reponsibility for the blast.

Security forces in a joint operation with police recovered one Pika gun, five Pika rounds, one AK magazine, 39 rounds and nine pencil cells at Tharal-Mamore in Udhampur district of Jammu region last evening, he said.
