Two die as tree falls on them

Betul (MP), Mar 3 (UNI) Two persons were killed when a tree fell on them as strong winds and rain lashed at National Highway 69, about 20 km from district headquarters, police said today.

Eight persons were injured in the incident last evening. Tinu Rathore (18) and Bhagirathi Bai (50) succumbed later, while Somti Bai was in serious condition.

Traffic was blocked for some time as the tree fell.

In a separate incident, lightning struck a 14-year-old, Mohan Pawar, dead in this district's Multai.
