Two children crushed to death

Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 3 (UNI) Two children were crushed to death by a truck at Banaras road, about five km from the district headquarters, police said today.

Ramnarayan was going along with his son Ujjawal (9) and daughter Kajal (7) when the incident occurred last evening.

A truck coming from behind crushed the children and killed them on the spot.

Both were killed on the spot.

The truck driver tried to escape after the incident but villagers foiled his bid and beat him up.

The truck was transporting liquor from Jalandhar to Bilaspur.

The driver has been arrested and the truck seized.
