Twenty killed in bus crash in Bolivia

LA PAZ, Bolivia, Mar 3 (Reuters) Twenty people were killed and 14 hurt when a bus lost control on a road in eastern Bolivia, local radio reported.

The accident took place in the district of Santa Cruz, some 435 miles (700 km) east of La Paz, early yesterday morning as the bus was traveling between the cities of Sucre and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

A police investigation suggested mechanical problems had caused the accident, the radio said, adding that the injured passengers were being treated at rural hospitals.
