TDP submits evidence documents to Speaker

Hyderabad, Mar 3 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh (TDP) today submitted as evidence, documents to prove alleged changing of hands of more than Rs 400 crore in the award of contract for the Sripadasagar irrigation project.

The TDP MLAs raised the issue immediately after the budget session began in the Assembly and interrupted the proceedings.

Speaker K R Suresh Reddy said that ''the TDP should submit the evidences to him and I would seek a report from the government'' at the earliest.

Not satisfied with the Speaker's response, the TDP members stalled the proceedings for a while by arguing with the Speaker that the government should place all files before him immediately.

Submitting the documents to the Speaker, TDLP Deputy leader T Devender Goud alleged that the government has awarded the works to contractors without administrative sanctions.

However, the Speaker assured them that the government would respond to TDP's allgations at the earliest after the issue was discussed with the floor leaders.
