Rupee opens stronger at 44.33/34 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 3 (UNI) Rupee today opened stronger by four paise at 44.33/34, as against the last close of 44.37/38, a dealer at the forex market here said.

The rupee traded at 44.35/36 at 1052 hrs.

The inflow of Rs 576 crore in the stock markets on Wednesday, as reported by SEBI, is keeping rupee bullish against the dollar.

But the stock markets this morning were rather quiet, trading flat at 10,624 points, down by merely two points compared to last close of 10,626 points.

Also the crude oil prices have shot up to USD 63.62 per barrel in the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) which might put some pressure on the Indian unit later in the day.
