Protestors damage 5 to 6 vehicles in anti-Bush rally
Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) A protest rally called by Muslim organisations against visiting US President George W Bush at Azad Maidan here, turned violent today as activists stoned and damaged parked vehicles near Haj House at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in South Mumbai this evening.
Police said the mob pelted stones at vehicles parked along the road damaging five to six cars, most of them government vehicles.
The rally was called by Muslim organisations such as Forum against war and Terrorism, Jamat-e-hind, All India Mili Council and Jamat-e-Islamic.
A huge mob started gathering at Azad Maidan at around 1300 hrs and they were shouting slogans against President Bush for more than three hours.
The mob had also hurled stones at McDonald's fast food restaurant chain. However, police intervened and control the situation, police added.
