Move to build four lane Expressways connecting national highways
New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) There is a proposal to construct a four lane peripheral expressway passing outside the territory of Delhi and connecting the four National Highways, the Lok Sabha was told today.
This has been informed by Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken in a written answer.
He said the total length of the Expressway is about 269 kms and the project is to be executed on Built, Operate and Transfer basis.
The project is scheduled for commencement by July 2006,the Minister said.
Quoting the Public Works Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi, Mr Maken clarified that there was no proposal to construct a 46 km new road to connect the four National Highways passing through Delhi.
