Make Mukherjee committee report on Bose public: Mahtab
New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) Mr Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJD) today demanded in the Lok Sabha that the government make public the Mukherjee committee report on the mysterious disappearance of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose.
Raising the issue during zero hour, Mr Mahtab said the government was sitting on the report, which was the outcome of six years of inquiry.
Recent reports had said the needle of suspicion pointed to Russia, which refused to cooperate with the commission which had sought access to its archives, he said.
The member also wanted to know the alleged role of Russian leader Joseph Stalin in the disappearance of Bose, the revolutionary freedom fighter who was the chief of the Indian National Army (INA).
The plane crash in which Bose was reportedly killed was ''stage-managed'', he said.
