Lion dies of pneumonia in Shakarbagh Zoo

Junagadh, Mar 3: A six-year-old Lion died of pneumonia at ShakAarbhagh Zoo here, officials said.

According to Gir forest sources, the lion was found in Jamwala Range of Gir sanctuary on February 25.

The ailing lion was brought to Animal Care Centre at Sasan where it was examined by the veterinary doctors. Later they revealed that the wild animal was suffering from lung infections.

The sick lion was shifted to Shakarbagh Zoo here for further treatment where it died on March 1, the Zoo sources said.

Postmortem report revealed that the beast died due to pneumonia, the Zoo sources added.
