Judge reserves orders on discharge petitions to Mar 8

Pondicherry, Mar 3 (UNI) Pondicherry principal district and sessions judge M Chinnapandi, hearing the Sankararaman murder case in which the Kanchi Acharyas are the main accused, today reserved his order on discharge petitions filed by accused two and four to March 8.

All the accused barring Jayandra Saraswathi and Vijeyndra Saraswathi appeared before the court today when the case came up for hearing. Separate petitions were filed by their counsels citing reasons for their absence.

The prosecution commenced arguments in the discharge petitions after strong protest on the continued absence of the prime accused Jayendra and Vijayendra. After a two-and-a-half hours argument by the prosecution and defence, the judge reserved his orders on the discharge petition to March 8.
