Jamait holds demonstration against Bush

Kolkata, Mar 3(UNI) Protesting the India visit of US President George Bush, members of the state Jamiate Ulema E Hind staged a demonstration in the city today.

Addressing a rally, organised near the American Center, the speakers described Mr Bush as a 'terrorist' in war against the world's Muslims.

They also accused the UPA Government at the Centre of extending a 'shameless hospitality' to the visiting US President and playing the role of an 'accomplice' of America.

The speakers said the invasion of Iraq was proof of Mr Bush's ''heinous policy'' which was being pursued in various other countries through exploitation, massacre and creation of instability.

They alleged that after Afghanistan and Iraq, Iran was Mr Bush's 'next target' for which it was trying to get India as an accomplice.

A big contingent of police was deployed around the venue of the rally, which, however, ended peacefully.
