Four held in UP for religious conversion
Jaunpur, Mar 3 (UNI) With the arrest of four persons from the Badagaon area of neighbouring Varanasi district, the police today claimed to have busted a gang, allegedly involved in religious conversions.
Police said here today that acting on a complaint about a gang indulging in religious conversion of poor people in the name of witchcraft, the police today raided a house in the Badagaon area last evening and arrested four members of the gang, including Maxwell Lal, Ram Jatan, Rajendra Prasad and Ram Pal.
The kingpin of the gang Amit Masih, however, managed to escape.
Efforts were on to nab him, police added.
