Court fulfils prisoner's desire to appear in exam

Kendrapada, Orissa, Mar 3 (UNI) An undertrial's desire to appear in the plus two science examination, was finally fulfilled when a local court gave him the go ahead.

Twenty one-year-old Allam Parvez, languishing in Aulipingal sub-jail, appeared for the Plus Two science examination at Jagannath College conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) after the Aulpingal jail superintendent and the SDJM court of Jagatsinghpur granted him the permission.

The prisoner, a resident of Chanarpur village under Balikuda police station, was a Plus two science student in the local Jagannath college under Naugaon block when he was arrested on February 2, less than a month before his annual CHSE examination, by the Balikuda police following his alleged involvement in a murder case.

Later, he was remanded to jail custody after the Jagatsinghpur SDJM court rejected his bail application.But his desire to appear in the examination forced him to appeal before the SDJM through the jail superintendent, who allowed him to sit in the examination.

In jail during the last 20 days Allam had prepared for the examination when this came to the notice of the Jail Superintendent, he drew the matter before the notice of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate who promptly allowed the appeal.

On Wednesday, Allam Pervez, went to the Jagannath college with police escort to sit in the examination. A confident Allam said despite all adverse condition, he would perform better in the examination.
