Corruption big challenge for society: Kalam

Varanasi, Mar 3: Exhorting the youth to weed out corruption from public life, President A P J Abdul Kalam today (Mar 3, 2006)observed it posed greatest challenge in setting up of a transparent society in the country.

''Composite development is not possible unless corruption is weeded out and I call upon the youth power to step forward in this direction,'' Kalam said addressing the 88th convocation ceremony of the Benaras Hindu University (BHU) here.

He lamented that leadership augmentation was facing hurdles in almost every field due to corruption.
