Centre will take note of attacks on minorities: Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) The government today assured the Lok Sabha that it was committed to maintaining communal amity in the country and would take note of attacks on minorities.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi gave the assurance after Mr Lonappannambadan (CPI-M) raised the issue of the reported desecration of a church and the Bible in Kota, Rajasthan, recently.

Seeking the Centre's intervention, he said the state government had failed to take action against the culprits.

His contention was supported by several Left and treasury bench members, including Mr Varkala Radhakrishnan (CPI-M) and Devendra Prasad Yadav (RJD), who were on their feet to express similar feelings.

Mr Dasmunsi said he would convey their sentiments to Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
