Blasts rock Kozhikode city

Kozhikode Kerala, Mar 3 (UNI) Two powerful blasts rocked the busy Mavoor Road area in the city today creating panic among the people.

Police said the first blast took place in the state-run Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus depot around noon and the other occurred almost immediately at the nearby private bus stand.

Ruling out any casualty, Police said the areas were cordoned off and tight security had been imposed.

Senior police officials are investigating.

It may be noted that as many as 47 gelatine sticks were found in a packet deposited by an unidentifed person in the cloak room of the KSRTC bus stand a couple of weeks ago.
