Banerjee report has no credibility : BJP

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) The BJP today dismissed the Justice U C Banerjee Commission-report which found that the February 2002 fire in the Sabarmati Express at Godhra was an 'accident', saying it did not have any credibility.

Reacting to the final report of the commission, presented today, BJP spokesman Arun Jaitley said there were voluminous evidences filed before the trial courts and appeallate courts where the accused were denied bail on their basis. These evidences had stood the test of judiciary at the highest level,he added.

Justice Nanavati Commission was inquiring to determine the cause of fire, and at this stage if an administrative committee was doling out reliefs because the Railway Minister wanted it, ahead of courts and the judicial inquiry, such an exercise had no meaning or credibility, he said.
