Artistes brim with pride as Chidambaram festival concludes
Cuddalore, TN, Mar 3 (UNI) Artistes from Japan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Hungary were among those who participated in the 25th "Natyanjali" dance festival held at Chidambaram in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu.
The event, which concluded last night, saw performances by leading artistes who opined that they experienced pride and fulfilment when they perform in this festival.
More than 7000 artistes have performed in this festival in the last 25 years.
Chidambaram town is famous for the temple of Nataraja, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, believed to be the personification of the heritage of the 'Bharatanatyam' dance form.
Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, who was the Guest of Honour at the valedictory function, savoured the performances.
The festival was organised in connection with the "Mahashivaratri" festival.
