Alleged encroachment on Waqf board land will be inspected

Bhopal, Mar 3 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today assured in the state assembly that necessary steps will be taken after inspection into alleged encroachment by the government on Waqf Board land, including 'Kabrastan (graveyard)'.

On Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani's direction during Question Hour, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra said all related cases will be inspected.

Earlier, Congress' Arif Akil said several government buildings have come up on Waqf Board's land and asked the government as to when the encroachment will be removed.

Earlier, replying to supplementary by BJP's Umashankar Gupta during, Question Hour, Revenue Minister Narayan Singh Kushwah said inspection will be carried out into alleged encroachment on 'Shamshan (cremation grounds)' and 'Kabrastan' lands.

He said steps will be taken to remove the encroachment as per rules.

Replying to supplementary by SP's Arjun Palia during Question Hour, Agriculture Minister Chaudhary Chandrabhan Singh said filling up of vacant posts for agriculture development officers by effecting promotions will be completed within three months.

He said the process was delayed because of several pending cases of departmental inquiries and character reports.

The Question Hour ended 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled one hour due to absence of 11 MLAs.
