All villages in Bihar to be electrified by 2009

Patna, Mar 3 (UNI) Bihar Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav today told the House that all villages in the state would be electrified by 2009.

Replying to a short notice question of LJP member Maheshwar Singh in the Assembly, Mr Yadav said 4,300 villages had already been electrified while the rest would be done by the said period. He said the government was committed to providing quality power to all villages of the state.

To another question raised by CPI (M) member Ramdeo Verma, Mr Yadav said a contingency plan was being prepared to supply power in areas which could face a drought like situation in the summer. He added that the state was receiving 1000-1200 MW of power supply from the central power grid and more power supply from the grid would be ensured if so required.

To another short notice question of Mr Verma, health minister Chandramohan Rai said 65 dentists were working against the sanctioned 115 posts in the united Bihar. He assured that he would initiate aall possible steps for filling up the vacant posts.
