Two police personnel suspended

Gaya, (Bihar), Mar 2 (UNI) Two policemen including the officer-in- charge of Mufassil police station of the Gaya district were suspended on charges of dereliction of duties in a case related to police firing, claiming life of one person yesterday.

Police Superintendent Amit Kumar Jain said officer-in-charge Vijay Kumar and a sub-inspector were suspended after they were found guilty of laxity, resulting in clashes between rival groups of the intermediate examinees near Jagjivan college centre at Manpur village of Gaya district.

Mr Jain said that an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5000 had been paid to the relatives of the deceased, Krishna Kumar, who was killed in police firing.
