Chennai, Mar 2 (UNI) Students of one more Deemed University took to streets in here today, protesting against the Management's failure to secure recognition from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

After students of SRM Institute of Technology and Sathyabama Engineering College (both Deemed Universities) went on a rampage in the college premises, students of Sri Chandrasekhara Vidyalaya (deemed university) at Enathur in Kancheepuram, run by the Kanchi trust staged a protest today.

The managements of SRM and Sathyabama colleges had announced indefinite closure following protests by students. The Kanchi Trust also closed the college today, after students came out and organised a protest demonstration.

Meanwhile, the affected students announced they would take up the matter with R A Yadav, Vice-Chairman of the AICTE, who is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow.

A representative of the students of the deemed universities said AICTE should cancel the deemed university status to the institutions, which failed to obtain its recognition and attach them to the Anna University.
