Six cops among 20 injured in post poll violence in UP

Mau, Mar 2 (UNI) As many as 20 people, including six policemen, were injured when a mob protesting the outcome of block pramukh election in the Ghosi area, turned violent this evening.

Police said here today that angered by the defeat of their candidate in the block pramukh polls in Ghosi block, the group blocked the Mau-Gorakhpur national highway.

When the police tried to clear the blockade, the mob began brick-batting and firing. As many as 20 people including six police personnel were injured in the violence.
