Kolkata, Mar 02 (UNI) JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Limited, a Delhi -based manufacturer and exporter of complete oral care products, is all set to introduce a unique anchorless toothbrush in the Indian market to bring about a revolutionary change in oral care for Indian consumers.

Claiming this, JHSSL Managing Director Nikhil Nanda informed newsmen here today that the comany had decided to set up a new plant in Himachal Pradesh at a cost of Rs 35 crore by April this year with production facilities for the new product, besides increasing the targetted sales to Rs one billion by 2008-09.

Claiming that though some other major toothbrush manufacturers in India were already importing anchorless toothbrush from Belgium, France and the USA to serve a section of the country's elite clientele for sometime now, it was for the first time that JHSSS would manufacture the same product indigenously for the commoners.

About the price range of the new product, Mr Nanda said it would be in the range of Rs 100 each, compared to Rs 500 for the imported ones.

About his other plans, Mr Nanda said following increase in the production capacity to 125 million toothbrushes and about 3,000 tonne of toothpaste within next three years, the export volume would also be doubled from Rs 45 crore last year.

At present JHSSL exports its wide range of oral care products mainly to the UK, France, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr Nanda said over the years JHSSL had achieved a competitive edge with sound understanding of oral care requirements of national and internatinal customers.

" Today JHSSL has established a firm foothold in the natioal and international markets with a very impressive list customers, which includes Fortune 500 companies and India's top FMCG companies for their private label brands, " Mr Nanda said.

To a query Mr Nanda indicated his intension to raise about Rs 100 crore from the market through an initial public offering by May/June this year. The entire fund would be used for further expansion and modernisation of the existing Delhi plant and for developing future products, he said.
