Security of four UP MLAs to be reviewed

Lucknow, Mar 2 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has issued directions to review the security of four MLAs, including two ministers, who had quit the Samajwadi Party to rejoin the BSP yesterday.

State Principal Secretary (Home) Alok Sinha said here today that directions to review the security of the four MLAs have been issued to ADG (Security), after the legislators yesterday demanded from the Governor special security for them, alleging threat to their lives.

A letter was sent by the Governor's office to the state government in this regard today, which asked for proper action in the matter. Following this, ADG (Security) has been directed to go for proper security review of the MLAs, Mr Sinha added.

The four MLAs, Surendra Vikram Singh, Jaiveer Singh (both ministers), Dharam Pal Singh and Ramji Shukla, had met UP Governor T V Rajeswar yesterday, to tender their resignation from the SP and also demanded special security, alleging threat to their lives from the ruling party.
