RRB's to observe nationwide strike on April 21
Kolkata, Mar 02 (UNI) Services in all the 141 Regional Rural Banks (RRB) across the country will come to a halt on April 21 in response to a nationwide strike call to press for its six point charter of demands.
About 70,000 odd employees of these banks, spread over to 523 districts all over the country, are likely to join the one day strike called by the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association.
Claiming that all the 14,500 odd rural Bank branches would remain closed on that day, Employees Association General Secretary D K Mukherjee said here today that their demands included de-linking of RRBs from the sponsor banks, formation of state level RRBs, revision of entire financial packages of RRB staff members as per the latest bi-partite settlement and business linked manpower planning in the banks.
However, a massive rally and day long dharna before Parliament house would be organised by RRB employees on March seven, Mr Mukherjee informed and regretted the inconveniences that would be caused to bank customers on these days.
