Raj Thackeray to launch his party on March 19 at Shivaji Park

Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) Mr Raj Thackeray, who quit the Shiv Sena late last year, today said he will launch his new party on March 19 at a public meeting at Shivaji Park at Dadar in Central Mumbai, It is the s ame venue from where his uncle and Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has addressed annual Dussera rallies without a break for the past 39 years.

Mr Raj Thackeray, in a two-page press release, gave a detailed account of why he quit the post of Sena leader on November 27 and subsequently resign from the party on December 27.

Mr Raj Thackeray said since quitting the Sena he had reached the conclusion that Maharashtra needed a new party for which he has toured the entire state to understand the problems and met prominent people from different strata of the society.

He had quit the Sena levelling allegations against his cousin and Executive President Uddhav Thackeray for marginalising him.
