Madurai, Mar 2 (UNI) The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court today ordered issuance of notice to M K Azhagiri, son of DMK President M Karunanidhi, on a petition challenging his discharge in the video piracy case.

Mr Justice R Raghupathy, ordered the issuance of notice returnable in three weeks, when the review petition of the anti-video-piracy cell of the state police came up for hearing.

The petition submitted that 4037 pirated CDs and video cassettes were recovered during a raid on the video-parlour, Royal Videos, owned by Azhagiri, in 2003. A case was filed in the magistrate's court.

After the magistrate dismissed Azhagiri's discharge petition, he moved the Additional Sessions Court. Disregarding the facts of the case, the lower court had discharged the accused, the petition submitted.
