Decision to increase milk prices to be reviewed: Deshmukh
Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said the Government's proposal to raise the milk prices from March one will be referred back to the Cabinet sub-committee.
After the Cabinet meeting, Mr Deshmukh told mediapersons here that the decision to increase the cow and buffalo milk prices by Rs 1.25 and Rs 1.40 per litre, respectively, and the increase in commission to all the milk cooperative federation by 55 paise from March one would be reviewed as some queries were raised, as to whether the rise would be implemented in the lean season or in flush.
He admitted that there was a possibility of milk producers from adjoining States bringing milk in Maharashtra, as they would get more rates here.
