Bush to savour Hyderabadi grapes

Hyderabad, Mar 2 (UNI) A progressive farmer of Ranga Reddy district, who has been invited for an interaction with US President George W Bush, will be gifting 30 kg of the famous Hyderabadi grapes to him.

Farmer Chintala Venkat Reddy (55) of Keesara had gifted 30 kgs of three varieties of grapes when former US President Bill Clinton visited Hyderabad. He is now very eager to give the same gift to Mr Bush. He is awaiting an approval from the US officials accompanying Mr Bush.

If the farmer's wish is fulfilled, Mr Bush will be taking home 30 kgs of Thomson, Flame and Black Seedless grapes as gift from Hyderabad, according to sources.

Mr Reddy is among the 50 farmers and members of women SHGs from different parts of the state who have been invited for an interaction at Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University with Mr Bush.

He is expected to interact with Mr Bush on new cultivation methods using organic fertilisers. He also holds an international patent on soil fertilisers', a process to improve nutrient content of the soil in cultivated lands.
