All arrangements ready to receive Bush in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Mar 2 (UNI) All arrangements at the main venues in the city where US President George W Bush would be visiting tomorrow are complete.
On arrival at the Hyderabad airport, Mr Bush would be received by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Chief Secretary T K Dewan. Eminent agriculture scientist Dr M S Swaminathan and Nobel prize winner Dr Norman Borlaug would be present along with Dr Reddy at the airport.
While sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads were pressed to check every area of the runway and the airport complex, security personnel were deployed in and around airport despite the presence of the existing Central Industrial Security Force personnel.
The airport authorities have deployed bird catchers and already 400 pigeons have been netted. Hours before the landing of Mr Bush, crackers would be burst to scare away the birds, according to airport sources.
From the airport, Mr Bush would proceed to the Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU). At the University campus, the US President would be welcomed by members of the Koya tribe belonging to Tummala village in Chintur mandal of Khammam district.
According to sources, during the 90-minute visit to the University, Mr Bush would interact with a select group of scientists, farmers, and women from self-help groups apart from a one-on-one meeting with Dr Reddy.
