RPI to organise 'Chalo Assembly' rally on March 20
Hyderabad, Mar 01 (UNI) Republican Party of India (RPI) State President B Tharakam today said the party would be organising 'Chalo Assembly' rally on March 20, in protest against the meagre allocations for the welfare of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the State budget 2006-07.
Addressing the press here, Mr Tharakam pointed out that the State Government has neglected the welfare of the poor belonging to the weaker sections, SCs and STs by diverting the allocations to other sectors.
He alleged that the Government had also failed to spend the money allocated for social welfare by the centre.
Demanding that the Government release a 'White Paper' on the expenditure, on social welfare, during 2005-06, he added the party would organise Chalo Assembly with a slogan of 'distribute land and increase budget' on March 20.
