Prakash Amritraj bows out of Las Vegas Open
Las Vegas, Mar 1 (UNI) Davis Cupper Prakash Amritraj went down fighting to American Mardy Fish 6-4, 7-6 in the first round of the Tennis Channel Open here today.
Amritraj, ranked 241st in the world, fought a see-saw battle against the higher ranked American before conceding the first set 4-6.
The Indian came back even stronger in the second set, stretching his opponent, ranked 164th in the world, to tie-break, but lost the set and the match 6-7.
Amritraj entered the main draw of the ATP event after beating higher ranked Brian Vahaly of United States and two other players in the qualifiers.
