Kolkata, Mar 01: Complainant R P Pansari today filed a petition for expeditious enquiry and trial of the complaint case against R S Lodha, S N Prasad, V Gaurishanker and S K Daga.

Moving the petition, counsel Y J Dastur and Mr Bhaskar Banerjee submitted that the matter had been adjourned several times to await the order and judgment of the Supreme Court in the SLPs, filed by two of the accused S N Prasad and V Gaurishanker against the order dated July one, 2005, passed by Calcutta High Court.

On the last date January 12, 2006, Assistant Chief Judicial Magistrate Manjit Singh had adjourned the matter till March 3, 2006.

As the Supreme Court had since pronounced its judgment on February 3, 2006, dismissing both the SLPs, the Chief Judicial Magistrate was requested to expedite the proceedings by continuing with the hearing of the case on and from March 3, 2006.

The counsels appearing for R S Lodha and the co-accused objected to the said petition stating that the same might only be allowed to be put up before the Magistrate on March 3, 2006, on the date fixed by the court.

After hearing both parties, the Chief Judicial Magistrate was pleased to put the petition of the complainant on record and directed that the same will be heard on March 3, 2006, when a short date for hearing and continuing of the trial would also be fixed by him.
