Twelve devotees killed in accident in Bihar

Sasaram, Feb 27: At least 12 people, including three women, were killed and 15 injured when the tractor carrying devotees from the Gupteswar temple here collided head on with a speeding truck near Amra Talawa village under Muffasil police station of Rohtas district early today.

Police said the tractor was carrying some villagers from Rampur and Gamhariya villages under Mali police station of Aurangabad district after they offered Puja at Gupteswar temple on the occasion of Shivratri, yesterday.

The victims included three women and as many minor children, the police said, adding the three injured had been shifted to Varanasi for treatment while the others were under treatment at a local hospital.

The driver and the helper of the truck fled the spot.
