Rajkumar's condition stable

Bangalore, Feb 27 (UNI) Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar was today admitted to the Wockhardt hospital here after he complained of chest pain, but his condition was stated to be ''stable.'' Hospital sources told UNI that there was no cause for any concern regarding the health of the celebrated 78-year-old thespian.

Dr Sathish, attending on the actor, said Rajkumar was admitted with chest pain and sweating. Doctors provided the necessary treatment immediately and averted any major problem usually associated with his condition, 'Angina'. Apart from chest pain, he had also contracted lung infection and treatment was being given for it too.

Rajkumar was responding well to the treatment and in good cheer.

His condition was being monitored in the intensive care unit (ICU) and he was expected to be shifted to the general ward by tomorrow and leave home in another 72 hours, he said.

Rajkumar was accompanied by his wife Parvathamma and three children in the hospital. He had been advised normal diet.

Dr Ramana Rao, the actor's personal clinician, said there was nothing to worry about and exuded confidence that he would be discharged from the hospital within the next two days.
