PBJP holds fast against AP's move to build dam
Chennai, Feb 27 (UNI) Members of the Pudhiya Bharatiya Janata Party (PBJP) led by its Founder-President Kuralosai Era Thangarasu, observed a day's fast here today protesting against the Andhra Pradesh Government's move to build a dam across River Palar.
Mr Thangarasu said all the northern districts of Tamil Nadu will be severely affected due to lack of adequate water if the dam was constructed.
He appealed to the Central and state Governments to ensure the dam was not built and asked the leaders of all political parties in Tamil Nadu to unitedly fight against the proposal.
The other objective of the fast was to express support in the implementation of the three-language formula in Tamil Nadu.
He strongly condemned Union Ministers representing Tamil Nadu in the Cabinet for not working for the welfare of the state and said they simply enjoyed power forgetting their duties to the people of their state.
