Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Leader of opposition in Jharkhand assembly Sudhir Mahto today (Feb 27, 2006) said the opposition has geared up to floor the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government over various burning issues during the budget session tomorrow (Feb 28, 2006).
Talking to the mediapersons here Mr Mahto said the Arjun Munda Government had failed to utilise 60 per cent of the funds earmarked during the last budget session which reflected the performance of the Government.
He said the Government had flopped in all fronts and failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
Among other issues the opposition would also rake up the issues like 'neck-dip corruption', 'misappropritation of public money', 'rehabilitation policy' and 'large scale displacement' due to setting up of the proposed industries for which 42 MoUs were signed.
Mr Mahto reiterated that the Government should issue a white paper on MoUs and demanded an open discussions on investment issue at the floor of the assembly.
Taking a serious note of financical irregularties, Mr Mahto said the opposition would raise question of sacking of Chief Secretary P P Sharma, who, he said, was allegedly involved in misappropriation of funds related to health and power departments.
He said State Finance Minister Raghuvar Das had complained against the former Chief Secretary which proved the gravity of the situation.
Mr Mahto demanded a CBI probe into Mr Sharma's involvement in financial scam.
The opposition leader also criticised the Government for its failire to tackle the drought situation.He said the Government had no concrete plan to cope with the natural calamity like drought.
"The Chief Minister had convened an all party meeting last year where he promised that stores of foodgrains would be built in the drought-hit panchayats. But not a single store was found," he lamented.
He said apart from implementing various schmes, the Government had also failed to implement the Centre's schemes like Rajiv Gandhi rural power projet and Rojgar Gurantee yojna. He alleged that the non-implementation of the centre's scheme was a ploy to defame the (United Progressive Alliance) UPA Government at the centre.
Mr Mahto reiterated the oppostion's plan to gherao the assembly on March 6 over the Government's 'failire'. He said hundreds of party acitivists of JMM, Congress, RJD, Left parties would take part in the March 6 programme.
