Cardiff University honours Dr Kasturirangan

Bangalore, Feb 27: Rajya Sabha member and former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation Dr K Kasturirangan has become honorary fellow of Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.

The Honorary Fellowship was conferred on Dr Kasturirangan, currently the Director of the National Institute of Advanced Studies here, at the varsity's graduation ceremony on February 21 at Cardiff, according to an ISRO release here today (Feb 27, 2006).

The Fellowship recognised Dr Kasturirangan's contribution to directing the Indian space programme and development of space science and technology, including development of launch vehicle and satellite technology, applications in the area of remote sensing, communication and education using space systems as well as promoting space science research.
